Events have been a significant part of thi wurd's progress over the past five years. There is the obvious importance of hearing a story read in the author's voice in order to gain a full appreciation of the nuances of the work, but events also provide an opportunity to obtain copies of our current and past publications, meet some of the artists involved, and share an enjoyable evening in the company of like-minded people.

Our first event was the launch of thi wurd fiction magazine issue #1, which was held at the Scottish Trades Union Congress building in Kelvinbridge, Glasgow in December 2012. Since then there has been a series of events in and around Glasgow, including writer tribute nights, with evenings dedicated to the work of such artists as Franz Kafka, Raymond Carver, and Margaret Atwood. thi wurd also runs Student Writing Showcase events in conjunction with the University of Glasgow's Centre for Open Studies.

The next event on the schedule is the launch of thi wurd magazine issue #3, which we hope to hold in spring of 2018. If you would like to be kept informed of this, please email to be added to the mailing list, or follow on Twitter @thiwurd
